What Does the Delivery Date Widget Do?

The Delivery Date Widget is a helpful tool for Shopify store owners, allowing customers to select their preferred delivery date directly from the cart. By giving customers control over when their order arrives, this widget helps boost satisfaction and reduces the likelihood of unexpected delivery issues.

How Does the Delivery Date Widget Work?

Once the widget is activated, a calendar icon appears in the cart, enabling customers to choose their preferred delivery date from the available options you’ve set in the widget settings. This selected date is then passed to your shipping and fulfillment team, ensuring the order is delivered on time.

How to Enable the Delivery Date Widget?

STEP 1
Access your Shopify Admin's Theme Library to open the theme customizer.

STEP 2
Click on the Theme settings icon.

STEP 3
Open the⚡Paid widgets tab and toggle the Delivery Date option.


How to Reposition the Delivery Date Widget?

STEP 1

Go to Sections and open the Cart drawer section. Search for the Cart Preferences block.

STEP 2

Click to open Cart Preferences, then locate the Delivery Date block. Hover over it, click and drag to reposition it above or below other elements as needed.

STEP 3

Once you've placed the Cart Discount block in the desired position, click Save to apply the changes.


How to Edit the Delivery Date Widget?

STEP 1

Go to Sections and open the Cart drawer section. Search for the Cart Preferences block.

STEP 2

Click to open Cart Preferences, then find and select the Delivery Date block to access its settings.

STEP 3

Customize the following options:

  • Heading and icon

  • Excluded days (e.g., days without shipping, such as Saturdays and Sundays)

    • 📌 Note: Separate excluded days with commas (e.g., Saturday, Sunday).

  • Required field option – Choose whether selecting a delivery date is mandatory for customers.
